Great news, the course of antibiotics are working their magic and knocking down the three infections. Brett is overall feeling MUCH better than he had been. The treatment will continue for several more weeks, but things are certainly improving.
On Saturday, Brett rode in the Hospitality Van from Craig Hospital to spend the day with the family, outside the hospital walls and gardens. He was able to attend Caroline's soccer game. Caroline was grinning ear to ear to have her Daddy there to watch her. Cole just wanted to sit on Brett's lap and not leave him for a minute.
After soccer, the van took a drive by our house and he admired the new landscaping! Brett said it looked like Extreme Landscape Makeover-Purdom Edition!
We then went to City Park Golf Course and the kids each hit a bucket of range balls. As many of you know, Caroline is a fantastic golfer, and enjoyed a few more tips from Brett on keeping her feet still. She can now hit the ball 60 yards with her 7 Iron.
We got Cole a set of 3 clubs for his Birthday last week. For the first time, he was swinging with clubs that were the correct size and he was making excellent contact. It was clear he had been listening to all the pointers Brett gives Caroline and talked himself through each swing. "Glue your feet, hands together, club face down and Swing!"
Brett's strength continues to improve, but this week his spirits soared!! We are all adjusting to this new life, and finding that we can still enjoy the things we loved before and appreciate each day together more than we ever have.
Much Love~Kelly
